Ok not really, but this is pretty awesome. Robert and I did little photo shoot with his cousin, Michael Samaripa of InnerLightCreations, over the weekend. Now I can be a little awkward in front of the camera, but Mike did a great job of making me look good! Check out his blog post for more details on the shoot.
I'm sure some of you regulars around here have realized that I haven't been posting as much as usual. I feel like I haven't been myself since the start this year and I haven't been able to get out of this rut. I've been trying to figure it out for a while now and have come to the conclusion that I need to pursue new endeavors for the Dainty Librarian store. As much as I love it so so very much, it has become more business and less creativity than I would like. I'll be selling the rest of my sweatshirt stock with the hopes that I'll have a new plan by then (or maybe tomorrow). Thanks for all of your support dear readers, I'll still be updating the blog!
Robert, Sweet Pea and I had quite a nice little weekend. I was so excited last week when Robert asked me out on a date for Friday night. We went to the Blue Dahlia Bistro to try out their "cheese board" and some wine, then we went to the Highball for a cocktail and finally made it to the Alamo Dafthouse for a special screening of "Castle in the Sky" (directed by the same guy who did my favsie "My Neighbor Totoro"). We started off Saturday morning right with breakfast at the Omelettry and then ran a bunch of errands. I finally got Robert to sit down and watch "Amelie" with me and he also fell in love! How did you spend your weekend?
Unfortunately our little Sweet Pea is feeling under the weather, so she only made to the end of the street and back to our house. We're hoping it's just a little cold from being at the animal shelter. Anyway, I hope you are all feeling better than Sweet Pea and enjoying this lovely lovely day!
Today Robert and I brought a new member into our little family, her name is Sweet Pea. We found her yesterday at the Austin Animal Center shivering in the cold and we knew we had to take her home. So far she is very shy and enjoys cuddling and putting her nose in between our legs or arms. Isn't she the cutest?
Se gets very lovey around me, like she already know I'm her mama!
Earlier this week I alluded to the fact that this would be a big month for Robert and me and that is because we are celebrating our first anniversary together! So if you don't mind, I'm going to gush a little about our relationship...
I had signed up for the online dating site Ok Cupid because my darling friend Sarah suggested I should. (Thanks Sarah!) I went on several first dates and only a few seconds dates, but I never really connected with anyone. I was at a point where I was getting tired of all the strange messages and then this happened:

Hi! I like your profile, I'm a big Vonnegut fan myself. I haven't checked out all his books but I just started reading Sirens Of Titan. :) Anyway, if you want, message me back.
I've lived here about 6 months now. I've caught a couple shows, but nothing that was super fantastic, unfortunately.

Yeah I guess its kinda hit or miss with the venues around here. I went out to Emo's a week or so ago to see my favorite band play. But I'm waiting for SXSW to start, lots of free shows! I'm Robert by the way, Whats your name?
I haven't been to Emo's yet, but I feel like I need to at some point.
My name is Roxanne.
Feb 11, 2011 – 3:09pm
Hi Roxanne, its nice to meet you. :) Emo's is cool, I like it because its laid back. I'm not a fan of dance clubs, so i find sanctuary in bars that i don't have to bust a move in. And that's my lame attempt at humor. So it goes, right? :)
So I know that you have no idea who I am. Obviously I'm some guy that keeps asking you weird questions. But, maybe we could sit and have some coffee together, or tea. I would love to know more about your art, i am always looking to meet another creative person! If not no big deal, i know meeting people online can be weird. :)
Oooh, love that place but I haven't been for a bit. I'm not too far from there. Does 5 work for you?
Feb 11, 2011 – 3:38pm
5 is great! I will see you there. :)
I could tell after spending some time with him that he was a genuine person and I really appreciated that so we moved on to dinner. The next day we went to the movies and shared our first kiss and the day after we got ice cream, searched for a photobooth and kissed a whole lot more. Just 4 months after that day we moved in with each other and I couldn't be happier. Robert is so wonderful and puts up with my crazy spells. We have ups and downs like any couple, but I still can't believe how much I love him considering we've only been together for a year. I feel so fortunate that we found each other.
We've got a big weekend ahead of us, so hopefully I'll come back with some fun photos! Have a great weekend everyone!
