Little Sailboat

This is what I got for Robert for his 27th birthday:

I was inspired by this song from Beach House's new album Bloom, it makes the experience ten times better:

What's the best birthday present you ever gave/got?

One Whole Year

Tomorrow marks the one year anniversary of the opening of Dainty Librarian.  As some of you know, my initial plan was the sell vintage clothing.  I spent the entire month of September scouring thrift store and estate sales in order to gather my inventory.  It only took two weeks after the opening for me to start making my own clothing and very quickly dropped the vintage clothes.

I remember being really uncertain of whether or not this was going to last.  I jumped in with little knowledge and hoped for the best.  Now, a whole year later, as I sit in my studio I'm so glad that I stuck with it.  Yes, there's been some tough times, ups and downs, just like anything else.  I've made some really awesome things, as well as a few mistakes, but I couldn't be more happy.  I know that if I hadn't moved to Austin this wouldn't have happened so I'm thankful that I did that as well.  I wouldn't say I'm wildly successful or that I really know what I'm doing, but I never would have known if I hadn't tried.

Thank you to everyone who has been so very supportive of the store and of me, I couldn't have done it without you!

Oh how my logos have changed!
The many banners I have designed.

Little Moments

Yes, I am still posting about my birthday and probably will be for the rest of the week.  Unfortunately I didn't take many pictures, but here are a couple.

1. The adorable little container the mac & cheese came in.
2. The cactus lining the walls of Snack Bar.
3. The Who's Pinball Wizard Pinball machine. Robert was surprise at how good I was at it and I have to say, I was too!

Oh How I Love Birthday Presents

My darling Robert bought me this lovely Corona type writer for my birthday.  I've decided that it is a serious typewriter so I must write serious things on it and maybe sometimes silly things.  Isn't it beautiful?  What was the best present you received for your last birthday?

Happy Birthday to Us!

I hope we all have a fantastic birthday even though we can't be together this year!
And yes, being a triplet is just as much fun as it looks.

Happy Birthday Grandma!

It seems that the older my Grandma gets, the more progressive she becomes.  She is an active member of Amnesty International and has protested with them several times.  She enjoys watching 30 Rock and The Colbert Report and always remembers to have mashed potatoes at Thanksgiving just for me!  Her and my Grandpa were kind enough to save money for my siblings and me to go to college.  She has always been a supporter of me and so I want to wish her the happiest birthday!  Here's to many more!

Can you tell which one is me?

Happy Birthday Betty!

This morning Leanne informed me today is Betty White's birthday.  To celebrate we went to Mohawk where they were playing Golden Girls all night and serving the "Betty" (citrus vodka, sprite and grenadine).  Yummy!  They even hosted a Betty White look-a-like contest, but only one girl was brave enough to done a white wig.  Now I just wish I had a TV so I could watch Golden Girls, I had no idea what I was missing out on all these years.
