Almost...

I guess I jumped the gun on pronouncing it Fall here in Austin.  Today was quite a bit warmer and I had to sadly tuck my tights away and opt for these shorts.  Luckily I've been totally lovin' them or else today might have been a little disappointing.  My leopard shoes have been getting a lot of wear too, there's just something so awesome about wearing sneakers, like I could take on anything in them.
Now that it is later in the day it is quite nice outside and the perfect time for a photoshoot.  Unfortunately it coincided with the kitties' feeding time so they kept following me around and meowing.  I swear they eat more than me!

Here's to a happy weekend!

Is it Fall yet?

A nice brisk breeze has finally come to Austin.  I feel like I've been waiting for this since I moved here two and half months ago.  Yes, I know I moved to Texas and shouldn't expect anything less than heat and humidity, but even in California I was always ready for cooler weather.

Leanne made cous cous for lunch and the smell of its spices have filled our little home.  Cous cous actually reminds me quite a bit of stuffing and now I'm so ready for Thanksgiving.  We aren't yet sure if we will be traveling to back home, but if not I saw that the Austin hostels are looking for people to cook a Thanksgiving meal for the international travels and I definitely want to sign up for that.

In other news, our poor Dainty Library had completely collapsed.  Apparently it wasn't as structurally sound as we thought, whoops!  I finally got around to repairing it yesterday and reworked some of the other pieces for the rest of the apartment.  I actually like it even more than before!

I had always wanted an antler chandelier and this one came with the house!
Leanne brought this back from the Hot Air Balloon Fiesta.  Isn't it lovely?

Oh, and I almost forgot to mention, new items up in the store so check check check it out!

Versatility: A Girl's Best Friend

We all know that the best pieces are the ones you can wear with anything.  But another things that's really great is a piece that can be worn several different ways.  I found this dress and instantly fell in love with the print.  I've never seen anything like it, there seems to be some sort of padding in the collar to keep it up.  After playing with it a little, I was finding it hard to figure out which side was the front and what was the back.  After a lot of back and forth I figured it out and also realized that it didn't matter because this dress could be worn a couple different ways.  I think my favorite is folding down the collar and unzipping it a bit.  It'll be available in the store tomorrow and I can't wait for someone to buy it and find some more ways to wear it!

Laser Cats & Bears!

The day has finally arrived that I have made the Laser Cats and Laser Bears Sweatshirt available at the store.  Each sweater features cats or bears with lasers shooting out of their eyes and tons of glitter.  I hope that you all like the sweatshirts as much as I liked making them.  So much fun!

Working...

Posted some new items today, so if you were eyeing anything from Wednesday's post, it's now in the store.

Yesterday I started working on my own collection of sweaters that are going to be in the store in a couple of days ( I hope!).  If you'd like a little preview, perhaps these images I created to get me started will give you a little hint of what is to come.

So in Love with Raw Stone Jewelery

One of the most fantastic trends I've seen lately is raw stone jewelry.  I think it's great because it can work for any look from hippie to high fashion.  Also, they're such statement pieces that a minimal outfit would compliment it perfectly.
1. Raw Pyrite Sterling Silver Stud Earrings  2. Quartz Citrine Amethyst on chain   3. Brilliant Agate Geode Ring
4.  Soft Purple Amethyst Ring  5.  Dara Ettinger Chelsea Ring

Blush

Here's a preview of what will be going up in the store as of Thursday.  I think the light pink and tan colors together are so lovely.  Maybe some one will need an outfit for a romantic evening.

SOLD!

First sale today.  Feels damn good.

Travel Log: Marfa, Texas

If you've never heard of the lil' ole town of Marfa, Texas then you are missing out!  Marfa is mostly art galleries and churches, but now it also features an airstream trailer campground.  I highly recommend you stop by there sometime and watch the movie Giant (it was filmed there), try to see the Marfa lights, and see Prada Marfa.

Orange you glad it's October?

In honor of the changing seasons and Halloween, I've decided that the first clothing available at the Dainty Librarian store will be shades of orange.  Here's a little preview of what will be available as of tomorrow.

Silver Screen Inspirations

In the Mood for Love is not only an amazingly beautiful film, but it also has a great wardrobe.  I love how even though the dresses are simple in design, they have fantastic prints.  And if you're not into the fashion, or the breath-taking cinematography, then check out the always sexy Tony Leung.  Sigh.
