Long legs, high heels and tassel pasties
Saturday night I got a chance to see my darling friend Rachel perform once again with her lovely ladies, Mojo Queen. Not only was her group performing (at Emo's which is fantastically dive-y) but there were also several burlesque performances as well! I've never seen burlesque in real life before and it was real swanky. It almost makes me want to get tassel pasties....almost.

For Love of Relevance: Achieving and Undermining the Local
| Dress: Vintage Bag & Shoes: Target |
Yesterday it was so lovely outside that I couldn't help but walk down to my local coffee shop and grab a cup and then of course stop in at the vintage clothing shop next store. I know I have work to do, but when it's this nice outside I feel like I'm cheating myself by staying inside all day. I can do that when it's 100 degrees out this summer, but for now I'll enjoy the handful of days we have perfect weather here in Austin. What's the weather like where you live?

Guilty Pleasure: Skins UK
I feel like I'm always years behind when it comes to watching tv shows. I didn't catch on to the Office until Season 6, I watched Six Feet Under a year after all the DVDs were released and started obsessing about Mad Men only a few months ago. It seems to me that if you can avoid all spoilers then waiting until a show has gone to DVD or is available online is a fantastic thing because you can zip through all the episodes and not have to wait a whole week for the next one. My latest endeavor has become Skins UK. After hearing all the hype about MTVs version, I figured I might as well give the UK version a chance. I some how managed to get hooked and I'm just finishing up the third season, it's quite wonderful. If you ever watch Degrassi, then I think you will love this!

Cut Along the Dotted Line
Did you ever try to cut your own hair when you were young? I'm pretty sure most of us have rocked the 2 inch bangs when we were about 7 years old and wanted to take our hair into our own hands. I guess I had one of those moments today because I decided I wanted shorter hair and just had to do it myself. I think it looks pretty decent as long as I keep it a little disheveled so that you can't see just how uneven it is. My hair cutting experience is what inspired this outfit today. My navy striped top was originally a turtle neck that I cut up and the high waisty shorts were originally shorts. I also threw on my gold scissors broach, strung on a chain here. I guess I'm not afraid of taking scissors to anything and I figured why not go short for summer?
