I'll take a #2 combo

The other day I got a message from someone who had purchased a sweatshirt from my store saying that it will be perfect for her sister because she's obsessed with cats and the White Stripes.  First of all, I was super excited that her sister was getting the perfect gift and I was making it and second, how awesome are combo gifts?  I mean, now that we have all this technology, it seems that combining two things that your family member/significant other/friend loves into one fantastic gift is totally feasible.
I tried to think of some things that I really like and simply typed them into the search box on etsy.  Here's what I came up with:

TRIPLE COMBO!!! This one seemed rather easy and once I saw the ring I was in love!  I guess I forgot to mention that I love big silly rings (unfortunately my search for a "big silly ring" on etsy didn't turn up any good results so maybe my theory is wrong)

Titanium Quartz Rainbow Druzy Ring Aura Crystal Cluster found here.

This one is just too perfect!  I think you can find any animal wearing on a bow tie on etsy, but I especially like this guy!

Executive Llama print found here.
So there it is, combo gifts. Quite possible the most brilliant thing you will witness this Christmas, if you're lucky!

Running in Circles

This morning I went for a run.  Well...it was more like a jog/walk thing.  For those of you reading this who really know me, I'm sure this is a shock to you.

Here's the thing...  I played sports most of my life.  In high school I played volleyball and basketball and we required to lift weights twice a week.  Even though I didn't enjoy running, when someone told me to do it, I knew I had to do it.  So I did.  As soon as my last season of basketball was over, I was done.  I was done with sports, with running, with lifting weights, with sweating.  DONE.  Occasionally my darling sister Leanne would try to convince me to go to the gym with her and I would whine and complain (sorry love!) or most often, just not go.  When we moved to Austin we made a conscious effort to at least go for a walk in the evening when it was cooler which I still try to do now after dinner, but it really isn't enough.  Considering how much I sit at my desk at work and on my days off when I'm blogging (like right now) I should be doing more!  I think it would be better if I had something chasing me, like a tiger!  Well, maybe not a tiger because I'm not that fast.  Perhaps an older tiger that's missing an eye and has a limp, I think I could outrun that.  I just can't see what motivates people to run!

I do have to say however, that I feel much more energized today and hopefully I can make this part of my morning routine.

There are so many cats in my neighborhood, maybe I could get one to chase me!

P.S. What music do you listen to when you run?  I have not yet perfected my exercise playlist and I think it would definitely help!

I do not want to be a cat lady.

Despite appearances, I am not a cat person.  My mom is (or I guess was since she doesn't appear to be anymore) allergic to cats so I developed a dislike for them.  I started to like them when they became a novelty to me instead of an animal.  Kittens are adorable and there's no denying that, but I don't exactly want one around all the time.  I think my real problem with them is that they are constantly playing games with you.  They know how to leave you wanting more.  I started photographing them on my walks and realized that I have become a sort of cat lady, but maybe a modern cat lady, the kind that will never own one.  That being said, I really want a dog.  Perhaps one day...

Crazy Weekend!

It started on Friday when Leanne told me that she had a surprise event for us.  We had to shell out $12, but she said even if it was bad it would still be awesome.  Turns out we were going to see Acro-Cats!  It was like nothing I had ever seen before.  Cats were jumping all over the place and at the end, the band played.  The owner had even trained one of the cats to play the cowbell when she said, "We need more cowbell!"

This is the tour bus.

Even better than the Acro-Cats though, was that my mom completely surprised us with a visit!  I have so many more photos to share of our adventures.
