Running Around Town

Let's see, what else can I remember from SXSW.  Well, my brothers came out to visit (drove all the way from California in record time!)
We went to Waterloo Records to see some free shows...
 We saw Chuck Ragan perform...
This guy just looked too amazing to pass up...
 There was some record shopping...
 There was lunch/dinner at Hut's...
There was a crazy screaming, table climbing performance at Mello Mushroom by Sohns...
There were lots of smiles at the Spiderhouse Cafe...
And finally one last performance by I Hate Our Freedom (the drummer is from the band Thursday)...
Good thing I brought my camera!  We covered a lot of ground in just one day!

Everyone Sux

What a whirlwind weekend.  SXSW came and went in a blur of music and booze.  We kicked off the festival by going to Auditorium Shores (we saw The Strokes and Bright Eyes there last year) and saw M. Ward and The Shins.  Pretty good stuff and lots and lots of people.

I guess they were less than impressed, but it's probably because they're drinking Miller Highlife.
Downtown Austin at night is so pretty!
The next day we went to the Everyone Sux day party on East 12th and saw Dent May, but we didn't stay long because we wanted to rest up for when my brothers arrived!

This guy was just painting the fence.
The band Tennis.
They were selling clothes and coffee on the side, but no alcohol here.
Don't worry, I've got plenty more pictures to share!

Banana Bread, Art Galleries and Snow!

On our only full day in Albuquerque we started the morning early with coffee and banana bread at the cutest little cafe called Cravin' Cookies.  After that we headed to Santa Fe where is what snowing quite a bit and visited the modern art museum, had some lunch and did a little bit of shopping.

Reunited and It Feels So Good!

After a grueling 12 hours drive, we made it to Albuquerque!  Leanne and her boyfriend Daniel met us at the Flying Star Cafe for a late dinner since we hadn't eaten much except beef jerky and veggie chips.
Leanne got me several Vonnegut books and Robert little
Hello Kitty mints that came in an adorable little case!
Leanne finally got a digital camera! Yay!
 Sisters!
We both wore our best friends earrings!
 Daniel, being Daniel...
I have some more photos from the trip to share, but I'm enjoying unveiling them little by little!

Drive Faster!

The drive from Austin to Albuquerque is a long one, but it's nice to know that your sister is waiting for you when you arrive.
