Bon Voyage Juno!

On August 5th, NASA launched the Juno spacecraft. It's headed for Jupiter, but won't arrive until approximately July 4, 2016. The mission will allow us to better understand our distant neighbor. A plaque dedicated to Galileo is on board, as well as three LEGO figurines of Galileo, the Roman God Jupiter, and his wife Juno.

You're Dreaming

The third day I was in Albuquerque we went the botanical gardens and aquarium.  The best part was the miniature world them are created with tiny trains and houses.  So cute!  It also felt a little unreal or too real? (thus the hazy colored borders added to the photos).

Albuquerque!

I almost forgot to mention, I'm in Albuquerque!  Flew in on Wednesday night and I'm going back to Austin tomorrow, but I've been having a blast with my mom, brothers, grandma and sister!  Also, today is my mom's birthday!!!!  We had a fabulous lunch and then they had to hit the road.  :(  Now I get the spend the night with my darling Leanne the Aspiring Librarian and do some shopping tomorrow!  I'll be sure to post tons of pictures when I return!

Next time I'll have to come out for the Balloon Fiesta!

Hello August

Robert and I have started a project where we take a picture of ourselves on the first day of the month.  Hopefully we can continue it for the rest of our lives!  Or at least as long as we live in this house.  We bought these lovely polaroid frames from Modcloth to put them in.  I can't wait to see how we change over time, I hope we can keep it up!

Our House in the Middle of Our Street

Even though moving was a major pain in the you know what, I'm so happy to finally be in our new place!  Unfortunately the living room is the only room that's pretty much put together, but it's definitely my favorite place (or at least until I get my mess of a studio painted and organized!)  The light that comes in through the windows in the morning is amazing and made me feel so fortunate that we live here.  For those of you who have seen my last house, you know that it only had three windows and therefore very little natural light.

I think the wolf rug really pulls it all together!
The record wall!
The record wall started out as a way to display Robert's record collection.  We were going to buy some floating shelves and set them on top, which turned into using thumb tacks and binder clips, which turned into getting some really ridiculous records based on the awesomeness of the cover, which turned into buying a sealed cardboard box of 100 miscellaneous records for only $5!  Man did we get lucky!  Not only because the records have super sweet album art, but also because some of them are really good.  Last night we put on Pat Boone, Connie Francis, and the 5th Dimension and danced around the living room while I had carrot cake mini cupcakes baking in the oven.  We're already making such wonderful memories in this house!

The curtains in the living room.
The curtains in the kitchen.
The curtains in the bedroom, crazy no?
