A Little Surprise

I began updating the store website today and added a little surprise for all of you.  If you visit the "our story" page and click on Douglas you find some great things.  I hope you enjoy it, I may have gotten a little carried away, but it was so much fun!

Shop update: More Sweatshirts!

Even though I had a couple chances to go out and about this weekend, I still managed to get some work done.  Here are a couple new sweatshirts and a tshirt that are now available in the store.  I'm going to be working on a new collection very soon (still involving animals of course) and can't wait to get started!

A Lovely Day at the Park

It seems that we are finally having some very nice weather here.  It's nice and warm in the sun and cool in the shade.  Since our house stays cold no matter what, Leanne and I went down the Zilker Park yesterday and walked along the Nature Trail.  There were so many people running, jogging, biking, in their exercise gear that Leanne and I looked a little odd in our regular clothes, but we didn't mind.

Take a little trip

After going to work, getting our oil changed, and grocery shopping, Leanne and I decided we needed to do something that was a little more enjoyable.  Leanne had been craving pie for a couple days, so we found a place in the little town of Blanco and set out on our journey.  Once we got off the main highway the drive was quite lovely.  We saw lots of goats, cattle, and a few deer.  Blanco is a tiny little town that is built around a beautiful courthouse.  By the time we got to Riley's, we wanted a little more than pie, so we got a bowl of BBQ stew and some cornbread to go along with our Peach Cobbler.  We found out that the latest Coen Brother's film had spent a day shooting there and shut down the entire town for it.  I have a feeling that wasn't very difficult.

Working for the Weekend

Finally made it to Friday and I can get some work done on the store.  I've decided to take on making a skirt and decorating three sweatshirts and a tshirt for the shop.  I also picked up a job designing a website so I need to get on that as well.  Even though I've been feeling under the weather lately, I'm still planning on getting everything done and drinking tons of tea.  Seems to working out alright so far.

Bought myself some moccasins today since it's been so much cooler here now.  I love them!

Want Journal

I just finished reading The Wild Things, the novel adaptation of the movie and children's book, Where the Wild Things Are.  I absolutely loved the movie (and the soundtrack) and the novel was every bit as good.  One of the things that I really liked and wasn't in the movie, was a "want journal".  Max's dad gave him a journal for his birthday and on every page he wrote "I want" three times.  The only rule was that Max had to write something optimistic.


I decided to start my very own "want journal" and I think it's fantastic because even though some of my entries are intangible, it's almost like writing a list of goals without having think of it as a list of goals (which I hate writing).  So far I've been very happy with taking on this task each day and I think that it would be beneficial and fun for every one.

Halloween Treats

So a Unicorn, Sailor, and Cruella Deville walk into a bar...

What a wonderful Halloween!  Even though our cab was an hour later, we still managed to get down to 6th Street and it's was crazy!  So many people and so many cheap drinks.  We met a group of boys who were pretending to be a film crew, they had a cardboard camera, a huge clap board, paper teleprompter, and a very crafty boom pole, so we helped them make their movie.  It was funny how people would act like the camera was real even though it definitely looked like cardboard. We stopped filming long enough to get some dancing in at one of the bars and I managed to come home with only a few blisters on my feet.
